Library, Art Collection and Botanical Gardens
The Huntington's superb botanical gardens cover 120 acres and contains more then 14,000 types of plants. They are divided into theme gardens such as the Australian Garden, Camellia Collection, Subtropical and Jungle Gardens, Children's Garden, Lily Pond, Desert Gardens, Herb Garden, Rose garden, Shakespeare garden and my favorite the Japanese Garden. The Japanese Garden located within Huntington Gardens attempts to provide an Asian style landscape that is both beautiful and cultural. With the addition of a half moon bridge, gong tower, Zen and Bonsai court, the Japanese garden was finally completed in 1968.
