Lubec is the easternmost municipality in the contiguous United States and is the closest continental location to Africa in the US.

Across the water is an iconic view of Mulholland Point Lighthouse in Canada. This was one of the lighthouses that always stood guard on the channel helping them finish their journey home. Mulholland Point Lighthouse was built in 1884 as the wooden octagonal lighthouse you see today. The 60 foot light was added in 1885 and is seen for 13 miles.
